Yes, Manx Accountancy Awards Entries are free.

 

WHAT IS A NOMINATION

Award Nomination is a fantastic way of putting an individual or a firm in the spotlight which may honour the inspiring achievements of individuals and firms you know across all segments of accountancy. Showcasing excellence and achievement is a vital tool in the continuing battle to establish equality across all parts of the industry and in all roles. Nominations are one of the ways to ensure that the best and the brightest get the recognition of all the hard work, enthusiasm and diligence they have put into the businesses as well as been recognised, not only by you, your company, your colleagues and clients but by the whole region.

 

WHEN IS THE NOMINATION OPEN?

Nominations are officially opening on 22nd Apr 2020 along with Pre-launch of the event. But all our award night nominations are unofficially opened six months prior to the award ceremony.

 

HOW TO SUBMIT NOMINATIONS

Making a nomination is very straightforward and is designed to be targeted and not overly time consuming.  You simply need to complete the online form for the relevant category and this will be submitted automatically to us once completed. Entries can only be accepted via the entry form.  Fill out all of the required information, and make sure you choose the correct category from the list. Criteria for each award can be viewed on the categories page. Please note nominations can only be accepted for one category per individual. Each category has a list of criteria that should be referred to in your nomination.  You can select multiple categories in one nomination

 

WHO CAN NOMINATE?

Nominations can be made by the prospective nominee themselves, by a third party or by the event organisers. Practices, employers, institutes, clients, suppliers and colleagues who have had positive contact with the accounting profession are encouraged to make nominations to ensure the fullest range of candidates is put forward. Accountancy professionals who meet the criteria for a category can also make their own entry. Entries are open to all individuals, teams and firms from all industry sectors operating within the region.

 

WHY GET NOMINATED

Nominating someone for an award is a great way to pause and express gratitude towards your nominee. It gives you the same feeling as writing a recommendation or even just a thank-you note. There’s no better feeling for your nominee than walking up on stage and collecting that award. Nominations are the great way to put forward the name of nominee for a chance of putting their company in the spotlight and ensuring that all their hard work, enthusiasm and diligence have been recognised not only by your company and clients but by the whole region. This is the perfect opportunity to show your nominee, who time and time again go beyond what you expected from them, how much you truly appreciate what they’re doing.

Manx Accountancy Award Nominations are all about making a difference, and there’s no reason why you can’t get in on the fun! For someone who constantly exceeds expectations, it feels amazing to be recognised. Nominating someone for an award is a fantastic way of putting their company or them in the spotlight. Your nominee would love nothing more than for you to appreciate what they’re doing, and tell them how much you find their work inspiring.

You can request your customers, suppliers, teams, employees or other business contacts to nominate yourself or submit a self-nomination. The awards dinner attracts from 200 to 900 guests, made up of finalists, judges, sponsors, accountants, finance workers and business people. The prestigious ceremony not only offers numerous networking opportunities throughout but will provide an outstanding occasion to recognise and reward the many achievements that continue to be made in our industry. Manx Accountancy Awards presents an excellent opportunity to further promote brand awareness and enable expanding thought leadership and recognise the work undertaken by accountants. CAN I SUBMIT MORE THAN ONE ENTRY FORM?

Yes you can submit your entries for as many categories as you want, but You can only submit one entry form for a company in one category.

 

WHAT HAPPENS AFTER I ENTER?

You will receive an email to confirm that your entry has been submitted. If you do not receive this please contact us. You will then be informed if your company is selected as one of the Ones To Watch.

 

WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS OF ENTERING THE AWARDS?


HOW DO I REGISTER FOR THE MANX ACCOUNTANCY AWARDS?

Entries for the Manx Accountancy Awards 2020/21 open on 22nd April 2020, however you can register your details for the 2020 Awards online now. You need to have an account in order to enter the Award. Once you have registered your details you will be able to log into your personal profile page. This provides secure access to all you the information you will need to submit an entry when the entries open.

 

WHICH CATEGORY SHOULD I ENTER?

Think carefully about your business. Is there a specific area of business you feel your company has excelled in over the last 12 months? Is there a person or project which stands out from your other parts of the business? Or has the whole business delivered excellent growth?

Once you have done that, see the full list of categories and how to apply. You can opt in to enter more than one category. At any point, if you feel that the category is not for you, then you can opt out immediately.

WHEN IS THE ENTRY DEADLINE?

Entry for the Manx Accountancy Awards 2020/21 opens on 22nd April 2020 and closes on 10th Jun 2020.

 

WHAT DO I GET IF I WIN?

You will be awarded with the title of the category you have entered and will be entitled to use the title in all your own communications and marketing activity for the period of 12 months after the awards.

You will also receive a special trophy to mark the occasion which will be handed over to you at the awards ceremony.

Winners will also be featured in any post awards media coverage provided by our Communications Partner.

 

HOW ARE THE AWARDS FINANCED?

Our continued success and growth is largely facilitated thanks to our sponsors and partners.

 

IF WE DON’T WIN, DO WE GET AN EXPLANATION AS TO WHY OUR ENTRY WAS NOT SUCCESSFUL?

Yes, you can arrange a feedback session with a member of our staff post-awards. This is by appointment only, so please contact us to schedule the appointment.

 

CAN I ENTER MORE THAN ONE CATEGORY?

Yes, you can enter as many categories as applicable. You must submit a separate entry each time.

HOW DO YOU SELECT THE JUDGES?

Judges are invited to participate in the competition based on their experience, business acumen and expertise.

 

CAN I QUERY THE FINDINGS OF THE JUDGES?

The judge's decisions are final.


CAN I UPLOAD ANY SUPPORTING DOCUMENTS?

There is no need to upload supporting documents if Judges need more information they will ask us to contact you directly.

 

CAN WE GET FEEDBACK IF WE HAVE BEEN UNSUCCESSFUL?

You can see the list of successful candidates of each stage on the website. We can also provide some feedback from the Chairman of the Judges, you would need to contact the team directly to request this.

 

I DO NOT WANT TO PROVIDE FINANCIAL INFORMATION, CAN MY COMPANY STILL ENTER?

This depends on the category you wish to enter. If the chosen category needs financial information then you cannot submit an entry form without financial information. In order to complete your entry for such categories, we will need you to complete the financial section to be able to compete and show your business success to the judges. This information is treated as confidential. No information will be published or used publicly. All our judges sign confidentiality agreements.

 

WHAT IS YOUR POLICY ON COMMERCIAL CONFIDENCE?

All information provided will be treated in the strictest confidence and will only be viewed by The Manx Accountancy Awards and its sponsors, the judging panel and the Chair of Judges. We have strict confidentiality and non-disclosure agreements internally and with our sponsors, to ensure all information is treated in complete confidence and not shared outside of the Manx Accountancy Awards. Information for marketing collateral and brochures for the Awards will be requested separately and therefore agreed by you.

WHEN AND WHERE WILL THE 2020/21 GALA AWARDS CEREMONY BE HELD?

The Gala Awards Ceremony will be held in a Douglas 18th September 2020. The location is TBC after the coronavirus period is over. Its coronavirus did not end by 10th Sep 2020, then the award ceremony will be done using a virtual platform.

 

WHEN IS THE PUBLIC VIDEO VOTE STAGE?

After the Ones to Watch list has been announced, we will invite the listed companies to create and submit their video for the chance to compete in our Public Vote. Dates TBC.

 

WHAT IS THE PUBLIC VIDEO VOTE STAGE?

You are given instructions and have the opportunity to upload a video about your business. This will be shown on the home page of the MAA website and you can promote your video link and your Ones To Watch status on social media, in the press and with your customers and stakeholders. It is a great way to shout about what you are doing and try to get the most votes to win the European Public Winner!

 

WHY SHOULD I ENTER THIS EXTRA COMPETITION?

The Manx Accountancy Awards encourage companies on the Ones to Watch list to enter the public voting stage as there are a multitude of benefits. Taking part in the Video vote is not only an amazing way to amplify and reinforce your endorsement by the MAA, but also a fantastic way to engage with your community and is great content for your social media.

 

DO I HAVE TO COMPETE IN THE PUBLIC VIDEO VOTE STAGE?

The Public Video Vote is a completely separate competition to the other stages of the Manx Accountancy Awards and is not compulsory. You do not have to take part and whether or not you do submit a video in this competition it will not have any effect on your progress throughout the main Manx Accountancy Awards competition. Although we highly recommend you do take part in both as this is a fantastic opportunity to promote your business and creates a huge amount or PR for you.

 

WHAT IS THE DEADLINE FOR SUBMITTING A VIDEO ENTRY AND WHEN WILL THEY BE AVAILABLE TO VOTE FOR?

After the Ones to Watch have been announced, they will be invited to submit a video entry. Dates TBC.

 

IF WE SUBMIT A VIDEO ENTRY, WHEN WILL WE FIND OUT IF WE HAVE BECOME THE EUROPEAN PUBLIC WINNER?

The company with the highest number of votes in the Public Video Vote will be announced as the Manx Accountancy Public Winner at the Gala Ceremony.

 

DO I HAVE TO BRING A BANNER TO THE FACE TO FACE JUDGING SESSION?

To help the Judges and other companies learn about your business, we request each company prepares a National Winner Banner, it shows Judges and attendees key facts about what your business does and your success. We have produced a free template for companies to use to create their Banner. We can create the Banner for you. You can order this via the events page. If you order your Banner through us it will be ready at your judging stand when you arrive, saving you having to travel with it and organising putting it up at your stand, making it hassle free!

Please make sure anything you bring with you is taken away immediately after your judging session, as we need to change the room around quickly. Companies must take sole responsibility for any possessions they bring to the event.

 

CAN I BRING A LAPTOP OR POWER POINT PRESENTATION TO THE FACE TO FACE JUDGING?

Yes, you may bring a laptop with you to provide visual aids to the judges if you wish to. Please make sure your laptop is fully charged, you will not have access to a power socket at your stand. Please make sure anything you bring with you is taken away immediately after your judging session, as we need to change the room around quickly. Companies must take sole responsibility for any possessions they bring to the event.

Can I enter if I am a not-for-profit organisation?

While Judges look to the profit and loss sheets as a barometer of corporate success, there is no reason why a not-for-profit organisation should not enter the Manx Accountancy Awards. Remember, the key things our judges look to reward are innovation, excellence and strong ethics. These three pillars of good business are equally applicable in the not-for-profit sector.
